What level is this course?

This is an Intermediate-level course. It’s intended for learners who already understand basic PLC programming. If you’re new to PLCs, we recommend starting with PLC Programming from Scratch 1 and progressing through the series before taking this course.

Do I need any software to follow along?

Yes, you'll need Connected Components Workbench (CCW) to practice the examples. The course also uses Factory I/O to simulate a real process. Factory I/O is optional but recommended if you'd like to follow along with the simulation exercises.

Do I need a physical PLC?

No, this course uses the Micro800 Simulator, which allows you to complete the exercises without purchasing a physical PLC.

What will I learn in this course?

You'll learn how to create and use User-Defined Functions (UDFCs) and User-Defined Function Blocks (UDFBs), write modular PLC code, test your applications, and reuse modules across Connected Components Workbench projects.

Will I receive a certificate?
